History

It was the summer before the fifth grade, and my two girl cousins had just gotten into the whole AsianAvenue and Geocities thing. Since my sister was interested, as the little copycat that I was I wanted a website too--more like a personal page. That was during the year 2001 where I about nine. I made layouts, forced my sister to code them and all that jazz.

I was probably in the sixth grade when I first received my very first video game, Final Fantasy X. I loved the game so much that after finishing it, I went onto researching the game on the web. That's when I came across the first fanlisting I had ever seen, the Tidus & Yuna fanlisting. Chrizta and I were fascinated by this aspect. Why would they collect a bunch of names? What would happen when you joined it? It was so weird...

I never actually considered coding my own sites until the seventh grade (2004), where I met my new best friend, Rikku, who also loved to web design. Rikku, Chrizta, and I decided to break away from the AsianAvenue thing once we finally wanted to join these fanlisting cliques; and so began our FreeWebs days. We also coded and made layouts for our Xanga as practice, but then again, I was nagging Chrizta to help me code when I didn't understand why everything looked so messed up every now and then.

Knowing about the Fanlisting Network for quite sometime, I was pretty bummed out when all the characters and relationships I wanted were taken, so I went to the next best thing--the Physical Fanlisting Network. I was luckily accepted to make the Uchiha Itachi Physical fanlisting (which is now currently adopted out to a new and awesome owner!). What wonders this new world held for me...

Later at May 08, 2006, I finally opened Oceanic-Abyss, my little subdomain at Serenity-Skies.Net that clearly lacked sites and only linked back to my fanfiction and what little amounts of fanlistings I owned. This was when I didn't ask for any help on coding anymore. Though I was still a little dependent sometimes.

Later during summer of 2006, when I created my first shrine, Ambrosia, my Roxas & Namine shrine (now known as White Shadows). I was proud of it, despite only having about four essays about their actual relationship and the other essays for it were the actual characters itself, I was happy to actually own a shrine.

Now, summer of 2007, I finally owned my dream come true domain--though I'm still being hosted.

My Style

A lot of webmistresses seem to have this section in their layout archives, so I thought of writing up one myself. I don't really think I know how to actually identify my "style," but I do usually go for that clean yet bursting with color layouts.

I have a real tendency to make layouts that include white one way or another. My inspirations come from a magazine called Strut--a magazine only released seasonly and only in Canada. I love the professional refreshing look of it really. My favorite technique in Photoshop is the "Line Burn" style whenever I'm coloring pictures or just bringing out colors in the image I'm currently using.
